The default setting, Library, organizes results so that items available at Shenandoah appear at the top of the list.
For this reason, an item that is not available at Shenandoah may not appear at the top of the list even when it matches your search terms. Try changing the sort order to Best Match instead.
The default setting, Libraries Worldwide, displays results for items from both Shenandoah and other libraries. This allows researchers to locate information about items not available here and to request them through interlibrary loan.
If you wish to limit your search to only those items that are available at Shenandoah, check the box for Shenandoah University Libraries.
Unless you choose a format when you enter a search, the results may include all types of items: books, articles, scores, journals, dissertations, videos, music, and more. The formats shown on the left side reflect the types of items that match your search.
If you need to request a book that Shenandoah doesn't have through interlibrary loan, select the Print Book format to find the record that includes a request button. Due to licensing restrictions, ebooks are not widely available through interlibrary loan.
When searching for articles for a research project, it may be useful to check the box for Peer Reviewed. This option will limit your results to scholarly articles. Selecting the box for Full Text will limit your results to only those articles provided through Shenandoah subscriptions and open access publications.
When searching for particular kinds of information, it may be useful to select one of the content type options, such as Biography or Fiction.
