A guide to assist in the training of student employees

Basement

The basement, or lower level, of the library can be accessed by a set of stairs or an elevator to the right when you enter the library.

The basement includes:

  • Books A-H
  • Oversized Book Collection
  • Periodical Back Issues
  • Vending Machines

There are also 5 study rooms and tables for studying. 1 of these rooms can be reserved.

Half of the basement belongs to Institutional Computing. There is a door separating the library and IT. If the door is pushed open an alarm will sound. People often need to pick up MacBooks from IT. They have to leave the building from the front door, walk around the back of the library and there is a door there they can enter. 

First Floor

The first floor of the library includes:

  • CDs and DVDs
  • Current Periodicals and Newspapers
  • Reference Collection
  • Popular Reading Collection
  • Faculty Publications
  • Theses and Dissertations
  • Armstrong Conference Room

There are also the offices of:

  • Bridget Reddy - Access Services Coordinator
  • Christine Forbes - Access Services and Reference Librarian
  • Sharon Gochenour - Interlibrary Loan Coordinator

Second Floor

The second floor of the library includes:

  • Books  J-Z
  • Study rooms 

There are also the offices of:

  • Jackie DeLong - Electronic Resources Librarian
  • Kathy Evans - Reference and Archives Librarian
  • Aimee Gee - Reference and Online Learning Librarian

Third Floor

The third floor of the library includes:

  • Music Scores
  • Microfilm Reader and Microfilms
  • Collected Editions Music Score Collection

There are also the offices of:

First Floor

The following services are available on the first floor:

  • Printing at the WEPA kiosk
  • Scanning at the BookScan Station
  • Checking out/ Returning Materials
  • Picking up/Returning Interlibrary loans
  • Picking up/Returning Library Holds
  • Checking out a Faculty Course Reserve
  • Checking out Electronic items such as MacBooks and Chargers
  • Viewing the Library “lost and found”

There are plenty of tables for studying, some comfortable seating for lounging, and some great spots with a window!

Second Floor

The second floor has many study rooms available to our library patrons. Most of the rooms are available on a first come first served basis. 2 rooms on the second floor can be reserved.

In addition to the study rooms, there are study carrels and tables for studying and comfortable seating for lounging.

The second floor has a conference room available for groups to use. It can be reserved.

Third Floor

The Collected Editions Music Scores are in a separate room on the third floor. This room has a large standing whiteboard that can be used by students, faculty or staff. The room also has two round tables available for studying.

The third floor contains tables for studying, comfortable seating for lounging, and two study rooms.
