Always Cite Multimedia Sources

Whether you're writing a research paper or making a presentation, some of your sources may be images, audio recordings, performances, or videos.

Just as you would cite books, articles, or other documents, always be sure to cite multimedia sources, too. By doing so, you:

  • show respect and appreciation for the creative labor of others;
  • practice academic honesty by avoiding taking credit for someone else's work.

(Guidelines for citing multimedia in APA style, Chicago style, and MLA style.)
