The Health Sciences Information Center is located in the Health Professions Building on the campus of the Winchester Medical Center. The Health Sciences Information Center supports the programs in Pharmacy, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
Health Sciences Librarian Meghan Davitt, MSLS, AHIP, assists students and program faculty with research and provides information literacy instruction. Her teaching focuses on evidence-based health information literacy for students preparing for rotations/internships, as well as on translating these practices to assist patients who need health information.
Additionally, Ms. Davitt provides reference and instruction services in support of the health-related programs offered at Loudoun in Leesburg and at the Inova Center for Personalized Health in Fairfax.
The Health Sciences Information Center’s collections are entirely online.
The facility offers study space with seating for 30 people and is open whenever the Health Professions Building is open, typically 24/7 during the semester. Printing and scanning are available onsite.
