VIVA Open Grants

VIVA Open Adopt Grants

VIVA Open Adopt Grants provide awards of $2,000 to individual instructors to support the time it takes to integrate existing open or no-cost materials into a syllabus, and to ensure that the results of those efforts are widely available to Virginia educators. As of spring 2025, these grants are awarded in three categories:

VIVA Open Adopt and Curation Grants: for adopting a selected pre-existing resource or a selected group of resources for a single class
VIVA Course Mapping Grants: for adopting a resource that has been identified and reviewed as appropriate for a Transfer Virginia Course
Community and Public Health Nursing Targeted Grants: for adopting the new VIVA open textbook Community and Public Health Nursing: A Call to Action for a course
