Professional Organizations

  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)  The world’s largest sports medicine and exercise science organization, whose mission is to advance and integrate scientific research to provide educational and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine.

  • American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM)  An international organization of orthopaedic surgeons and other allied health professionals dedicated to sports medicine.
  • American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) An international organization of biomechanists in biological sciences, exercise and sports science, health sciences, ergonomics and human factors, and engineering and applied science.
  • Association for Applied Sport Psychology An international, multidisciplinary, professional organization that offers certification to qualified professionals in the field of sport, exercise, and health psychology.
  • National Academy of Kinesiology  Organized in the early 20th century, the mission of the Academy is to encourage and promote the study and educational applications of the art and science of human movement and physical activity.
  • National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)  An internationally recognized authority on strength and conditioning, focused on the support and dissemination of research-based knowledge and its practical application to athletic performance and fitness
